With today's continuous changes in technology and the complexity of the personal computer , the need for technicians remains in high demand. Throughout this program, students learn how to disassemble, assemble, diagnose, and upgrade personal computers and networks. Three options are available in the second year of the program: a focus on network administration, systems administration, or a student may opt for a Computer Support Specialist emphasis by completing one year of Office Technology Specialist. COMP TIA A+ certification exams will be offered to first-year students. Successful completion of these exams will lead to A+ certification. Program Outcomes At the completion of the second year, graduates will be able to: 1. Troubleshoot the communications network when problems arise and develop a solution plan. 2. Provide support for network administration. 3. Assist with network design , testing, and documentation for implementing a communications network. 4. Analyze, design and document network specifications to meet client needs 5. Install, support, and maintain a Local Area Network (LAN) and/or a Wide Area Network (WAN). 6. Troubleshoot in a heterogeneous network environment. 7. Use the fundamental principles of systems analysis and design to solve organizational needs. 8. Demonstrate proficiency in using implementation methodology, tools and techniques. 9. Work effectively with others to accomplish complex tasks. 10. Install, configure, and troubleshoot Exchange Server. 11. Perform forensically sound data recovery. 12. Demonstrate knowledge of Information Security. 13. Plan, implement, and maintain Active Directory environment. 14. Plan, implement, and maintain Exchange Server environment.
