Purpose of the Program The Bioinformatics Program is a two year, multi-disciplinary program in molecular biology, computer science, and mathematics designed to train students through a combination of core and advanced courses, workshops, lectures by leading scientists in various areas of bioinformatics, research/internships, and seminars. Emphasis is placed on providing high quality research experiences through close relations with scientists of the program and scientists from partnering institutions and industries. To receive a Master's degree in two years, students must demonstrate mastery of the core subject matter. Students must also demonstrate a working knowledge of computational methods available to the modern bioinformatician and also complete an internship in one of the fields of bioinformatics .
