Diesel Technology Heavy Duty Truck & Bus Mechanics from Mid Florida Tech is a Campus Certificate Automotive degree that prepares you for a Engineering career. MISSION: This program is committed to meeting and exceeding the needs of the industrial community by developing skilled technicians trained with the most current technologies, professionalism and leadership abilities. DESCRIPTION: Training includes maintaining and repairing diesel engines and electrical systems, maintaining and repairing basic hydraulic systems, overhauling diesel engines, performing preventative maintenance and repairing chassis of heavy trucks and buses. Communication and leadership skills, mathematical skills, human relations and employability skills, and safe and efficient work practices are included in the training. Instructors are ASE certified as medium and heavy truck technicians. The instruction, course of study, facilities, and equipment have been evaluated by the National Automotive Service Technicians Education Foundation (N.A.T.E.F.) and meets the Automotive Service Excellence Standards of Quality (ASE) for training.
