PC Support Services from Miami - Dade County Public Schools - The English Center is a Campus Certificate Programming degree that prepares you for a IT career. This 900-hour course is designed to develop entry-level skills for PC Support services. Emphasis is placed on developing an understanding of various computer software applications and computer hardware. It also includes software applications and operating systems, electronic communications via the Internet, and introduction to computer networking. The PC Support Program will enable students to continue to build on entry-level skills and upon completion possess the knowledge, skills and abilities to become a successful Help Desk Analyst. Suggested number of hours 900 @ $2.15 per hour plus materials. Each vocational class lasts one term; therefore, the more classes taken per term, the sooner a program can be completed (i.e. if two classes per term, student can complete program in 3 terms or 9 months). The school provides state of the art computer equipment as well as any needed equipment for class use. All students who plan to enroll in a vocational course must read and understand the English language. If a student did not achieve a passing score on the admission test, s/he is encouraged to attend the VPI lab to improve their language and math skills prior the completion of the program.
