Nail Specialty from Miami - Dade County Public Schools - The English Center is a Campus Certificate Nail degree that prepares you for a Vocational Programs career. Nails technology is an exciting and rewarding profession. Each year professional nail technicians perform more than $3 billion worth of manicuring, pedicure, and artificial nail services for millions of fashion-conscious clients. Students in the 240-hour Nails Specialty program will learn the step-by-step procedures for manicuring, pedicure, tips, wraps, acrylic nails and basic nail art procedures as well as to identify the chemicals commonly used in the nail salon, how they can cause harm, how to protect themselves and their clients, and how to read MSDS (material safety data sheet). Suggested number of hours 240 @ $2.15 per hour plus materials. Students will learn customer service skills such as client consultations, retail sales, client follow-ups, manicuring, and esthetics.
