The Bachelor of Business Administration in Information Systems (BBA/IS) program is designed to teach the theories, models, tools and techniques needed to use information technology in innovative and effective business administration. Information Systems (IS) is defined as the use of computers and information to enable people and organizations to be more creative and productive. Course material reflects a body of knowledge that focuses on teaching and applying three basic functions of information systems: 1) identifying the needs of an individual or organization, 2) designing and developing systems to meet those requirements, and 3) deploying these systems to solve real-world problems. Solutions may involve applying the latest technology to improve the delivery of products and services, while insuring that the systems are secure. The BBA/IS program is a non-traditional, cohort-based degree completion program for working adults who have completed 60 or more college credits, have at least two years of full-time work experience, and can demonstrate at least a minimum level of academic or professional experience in information systems. Students without a background in the fundamentals of information systems may qualify for the program through completion of two online prerequisites. Through a core of 52 credits, the proposed program provides a precisely ordered curriculum leading to completion of a bachelor\\\'s degree; cohorts complete all courses together in a lock-step sequence. Students form study groups which meet four hours each week to complete group assignments and are also responsible for individual assignments each week. Students are required to have the use of a laptop computer throughout the program. The BBA/IS program focuses on using information systems to confront and resolve business and management problems.
