Graduate Opportunities The History major provides an excellent foundation for graduate study in: 1) Academic History 2) Public and applied historical fields, such as archival management, historical editing, and related fields 3) Professional training in business, communications (journalism), economics, law, public administration, and policy studies. History also prepares students for elementary and secondary teaching careers and for a wide variety of positions in private or public sector organizations.
