The MA/HRM program focuses upon the practice of HRM in business, government, and other not-for-profit organizations. Courses offer both concept and skill components designed to help students base practice on solid theoretical grounding. Courses are led by faculty members who have earned advanced graduate degrees and/or possess significant experience in the fields of business, organization behavior, and human resources . The MA/HRM curriculum consists of 12 courses. Six foundation courses assist students to become more effective organization members and managers. Five specialty courses explore concepts and skills needed for successful practice of human resource management . A capstone course provides an opportunity for students to integrate learning from previous courses by engaging in individual projects to improve HRM policies, practices, or programs in the workplace.. The MA/HRM program program is designed to be completed in six semesters (two calendar years), based upon completion of two courses each semester. However, the curriculum is flexible allowing students to proceed more rapidly or more slowly. Students who wish to enroll in more than two courses in a semester may do so with the permission of the program coordinator. The program must be completed within the period of six years from the time of initial enrollment.
