Physics - Manhattan College

Physics from Manhattan College is a Campus Bachelor Physics degree that prepares you for a Science career. The student who is a physics major at Manhattan is exposed to a rigorous and challenging program with both theoretical and experimental components leading to mastery of mechanics, electromagnetism, optics, thermal physics, relativity, and quantum theory. Up to date laboratories open to upperclassmen in physics enhance the quality of the program. In addition, a strong humanities education is required of all majors in the sciences. The broad nature of physics prepares students to pursue a multitude of post- graduate career goals, including a variety of research positions, teaching, and the opportunity to traverse into other scientific professions. In essence, a student with a degree in Physics has the ability to excel in any scientific field of his/her choice. The physics department at Manhattan College represents an integral part of School of Science. Majors in all other fields of science are required to take at least 8 credits (two semesters) of Physics courses to fulfill their requirements. Students also have the opportunity to pursue a minor in Physics.
