The MATC Nursing Division prepares students to pursue nursing careers at the Practical Nursing (PN) and Associate Degree Nursing (PN) levels by providing high quality instruction to both academic and clinical learning environments: 1. Provides educational programs that prepare technical nurses at the PN and PN levels 2. Contributes to the overall functioning of the college. 3. Program Description Licensed practical nurses (LPNs) care for people who are sick, injured, convalescent, or disabled; LPNs work under the direction of physicians and registered nurses. LPNs may work in hospitals, long term care facilities, clinics, and a variety of other areas. The Practical Nursing program at Manhattan Area Technical College prepares students for this career. Upon completion of the program, the student will be eligible to apply to take the National Council Licensure Examination for Practical Nurses (NCLEX-PN) for licensure as a practical nurse.
