Program Mission The Electric Power & Distribution program enhances students' knowledge and technical skills required to succeed in the electrical distribution industry. Graduates of the Electric Power & Distribution (EPD) program will be able to successfully install, maintain, and operate electrical systems to supply electrical energy to residential, commercial, and industrial customers and to join gas and electrical underground generation facilities. Program Description The EP&D Program provides the training needed to construct, operate, and maintain power line equipment. This program is one of only a handful in the U.S. that has open admission to the public. Students must be 18 years old prior to their summer internship. They must also be eligible to obtain a Class A Commercial Drivers License (drug free with no DUI convictions), and be willing to climb poles, work in high places, and lift objects heavier than 50 pounds.
