Anthropology from Louisiana State University - System Office is a Campus Bachelor Anthropology degree that prepares you for a Science career. A Bachelor of Arts is offered in anthropology . Because it is a broad study of mankind, students majoring in anthropology are urged to take courses in the sciences, the social sciences, and the humanities. Departmental course requirements are few. Students must complete Anthropology 1001 and 1003 and at least three courses from the following: Anthropology 2015, 2051, 3060, 4040. Course 2055, 2154, or 2155 in a foreign language must also be completed. A minimum of 24 semester hours in anthropology is required. Courses in archaeology, cultural anthropology, folklore, physical anthropology , and anthropological linguistics are available. Through consultation with their depart-mental counselor, students design a specific program to fit their needs. Because anthropology is a field science, students participate in numerous field trips. To help defray expenses, a field service fee of $20 per semester is charged to undergraduate majors and $25 per semester for graduate majors.
