The Modern Languages and Cultures Program (MLC) is pleased to invite you to join us in the exploration of world languages and cultures. The program offers a major and a minor in Spanish; we also offer a variety of Spanish courses for students with various interests and backgrounds: 1. introductory language classes for students who've never studied a language other than English 2. mid- and upper level courses in language , culture and literature for students who are native or bilingual speakers or who have previous language experience 3. courses for professional purpose 4. courses offered in English about different cultures In addition to Spanish courses applicable to the major/minor in Spanish , MLC/Spanish courses can be taken as elective credits. Some MLC courses will also help you fulfill General Education requirements. All of our courses will provide you with opportunities to see the world from new and interesting perspectives. Popular international study opportunities are available through the Center for Experiential Learning. We are very excited about our innovative course offerings in Spanish for the Professions that provide opportunities for students at all levels of language study to expand their career opportunities and understanding of global and international issues. We offer a series of introductory and intermediate level courses that assist in obtaining and/or refining general language skills for students interested in business, criminal justice, health & social services . For majors and minors, we also offer more advanced level courses for students who wish to supplement their other majors or future career plans with classes that provide opportunities (site visits, practica, and special projects) to utilize their language skills in "real world" situations.
