The Bachelor of Science in Nutrition The goal of the program is to develop a graduate who meets the foundation knowledge and skills required by American Dietetic Association. The emphasis of the program is on the application of nutrition knowledge to healthy individuals and to those with complex disease states. Graduates of the program will be able to: Communicate effectively Utilize knowledge of the physical and biological sciences as they relate to nutrition Incorporate the social sciences when planning for the needs of the nutrition community Understand how food relates to health and disease Use efficiently and effectively the techniques and tools for managing food service systems Understand the health care delivery system Analyze and evaluate current research To be admitted to the program at the C.W. Post Campus, transfer students must have a GPA of 2.5. To meet graduation requirements, a student must maintain a GPA of 2.5 in major subjects. Students must complete both the B.S. and an ADA accredited post-baccalaureate clinical experience (Dietetic Internship) to be eligible to sit for the national Registered Dietitian (RD) examination.
