Political Science - Lock Haven University

Political Science from Lock Haven University is a Campus Bachelor Public Administration degree that prepares you for a Human Services career. You will study political ideas like democracy and globalization and apply them to the U.S. and other political systems, to relations between nations, and to policy issues both within and across national borders. If you choose the Pre-Law concentration, it includes courses that develop skills and aptitudes for law school. You are encouraged to do an internship to gain experience in real-life situations. Recent students have interned in the Governor's Budget Office, the Governor's Office for Health Care Reform, the Department of Community and Economic Development, the Pennsylvania House of Representatives, the U.S. Department of Defense, several local political campaigns, a U.S. Attorney's office, and numerous law firms. Career Opportunities Recent graduates work in the U.S. Departments of Defense and Veterans Affairs, in the Office of the Governor, as lobbyists and legislative staffers, and in political consulting. Others have studied in M.A. programs at Syracuse University, University of Pittsburgh, Lehigh University, and Long Island University.
