MISSION STATEMENT The purpose of the Air Conditioning, Refrigeration and Heating Technology Program is to prepare students for employment or advance training in the air conditioning, refrigeration, ventilation and heating industry. PROGRAM STRUCTURE The program focuses on broad, transferable skills and demonstrates elements of the industry such as planning, management, finance, technical and production skills, the underlying principles of technology, labor issues, community issues, and health, safety and environmental issues. Students will obtain Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) certification prior to leaving school in order to be employable in any job that requires work with refrigerants. LABORATORY ACTIVITIES Classroom, shop and laboratory are an integral part of this program. These activities include instruction in the use of safety procedures and in the care of tools, equipment, materials and processes found in the industry.
