During the program, students acquire advanced knowledge of literature and theory in their area of specialization, and are given theoretical and practical knowledge of advanced research skills. This provides the foundation required to successfully prepare and defend the doctoral dissertation, while ensuring that students also develop an appreciation for the impact their research can have on the business world. DBA PROGRAM OBJECTIVES The following are the objectives to fulfill the mission of the Lincoln University DBA program: 1. Provide students with the opportunity to develop an in-depth knowledge and understanding of their chosen area of business specialization through course work that presents the latest academic theories, concepts, techniques and applications relevant to the program emphases in teaching, research, practice in the field of concentration, and consulting; 2. Extend the knowledge, expertise and skill of students through the application of research to business problems and issues by including internships, teaching assistant experiences, and special study projects as a part of the curriculum; 3. Develop the student's ability to carry out independent research at an advanced level, and enhance their ability to communicate their ideas, research methodology and findings by means of formal presentations with critiques of their analytical, written, oral and media presentation skills in business , professional, and educational environments; 4. Ensure that the required DBA program core curriculum provides a comprehensive knowledge and skill base across the range of business disciplines, equipping students with the ability to research and/or manage complex business-operating and performance issues and to consult with business enterprises from the framework of theoretical knowledge and applied concepts; 5. Provide an opportunity for both full and part-time students to pursue a high-quality professional doctorate in business administration with demonstration of specialized skills applicable to teaching, research, practical applications in the field of concentration, and consulting; 6. Build faculty and student exchange partnerships with international universities to enrich the diversity of the student population and global curricular content; 7. Create opportunities for Lincoln University's bachelor's and master's degree students to continue their business education by undertaking the doctoral degree course of study; 8. Encourage doctoral students interested in academic careers by including supervised teaching assistant responsibilities as a part of their course of study.
