Doctor's degree Economics from Lehigh University is a Campus Ph.D Economics degree that prepares you for a Business career. Why the Lehigh PhD in Economics? The LEHIGH Ph.D. in Economics (PhD ECO) focuses primarily on three fields of study: health economics, labor economics , and applied econometrics. By emphasizing these complementary fields, we provide students with the training necessary to understand complex and often intertwined human resources issues. They also learn cutting-edge econometric techniques that allow them to make important research contributions in these and other areas. In addition to faculty with specific research interests in health, labor and econometrics, the program features experts who are accomplished in a variety of other fields. This provides our PhD candidates broad access to research topics within their chosen field, and gives them the faculty resources necessary for continued growth and intellectual development. Another important aspect of the PhD ECO program is its balanced approach to both research and teaching. All of our students have the opportunity to serve as teaching assistants, and some of them choose to be instructors. At any given time, there are approximately 16 to 18 students in residence. As a result, classes are generally small and students have the opportunity to work closely with the faculty. Graduates of our program have been successfully placed in academic positions that are both research- and teaching-oriented. Recent tenure-track appointments include: University of Iowa School of Public Health, Worcester Polytechnic Institute, James Madison University, St. Joseph's University, The College of New Jersey, Lafayette College, and Babson College. Other graduates have gone on to careers in economic consulting, business operations, and government research. View more details on Lehigh University .
