Equip students with clinical skills that are often prerequisites for counseling, community mental health programs and graduate school requirements in various fields of psychology; 3. Enable students to develop critical thinking skills, comparative analysis, and competence in oral, written, and interpersonal communication; 4. Offer courses that meet the needs of students in other related disciplines; 5. Cultivate an interest in scholarship and research. Program Description: The Psychology program offers an option in Behavioral Management/Alteration. The Psychology Department offers a wide range of courses which may help to fulfill requirements for other majors as well as General Education. The program has an urban thrust which prepares students to deal with the pressures of an urban lifestyle and to assist others in coping and adjusting to urban conditions.
