Goals/Objectives of the Chemistry Education Program: 1. To provide a basic curriculum in science and mathematics that will enable the student to be a competent secondary school science teacher; 2. To provide teaching experiences in addition to the conventional supervised course in student teaching. This will include activities such as assisting or tutoring in our introductory courses in the department, teaching laboratory logistics and how to locate and develop experiments suitable for short laboratory periods; 3. To inculcate, as an integral part of each course and departmental philosophy, the contributions that women and various nationalities and races have made in science.
