Program Description Using Windows-based operating systems, the curriculum presents website elements, including web page preparation, programming, design, maintenance, and updating. The program builds upon a foundation of Internet concepts, including browser basics, file transfer protocol (FTP) and information resources. The study of layout and design consists of creating page templates, designing effective frames and tables, planning site navigation, understanding web typography, graphics, color and publishing/maintaining websites. Programming focuses on HTML, XHTML, CSS, and JavaScript. A look at visual and graphic design teaches students how to incorporate color techniques, use layers to finesse an image, create special effects with layers, take digital photos and enhance images using Adobe Photoshop image-editing software.
