Criminal Justice Law Enforcement from Lakeland Community College is a Campus Associate Law Enforcement degree that prepares you for a Legal career. The Law Enforcement degree program introduces pre-service students to careers in law enforcement and equips students with both the skills and knowledge needed to pursue careers and/or additional education. Positions are available in federal, state, local, and private law enforcement agencies as well as in community-based victim, witness, diversion, and crime prevention programs. The program is also intended to support the continued professional growth of in-service law enforcement practitioners through the enhancement of general skills and knowledge related to the law enforcement field. Therefore, credit may be granted for in-service practitioners who present proof of having completed advanced law enforcement-related training/educational programs and/or the Basic Police Academy of the Ohio Peace Officer Training Academy for the Ohio Peace Officer Training Council. Students seeking credit for experience should contact the Counseling Office or the Criminal Justice Program Director. Areas of Concentration Students are required to develop an area of concentration in the program through the selection of technical electives. Areas of concentration include: General Concentration OR Crime Scene Technology Concentration OR Computer Forensic Technology Concentration General Concentration: Students choose any combination of 9 credits of approved technical electives. Crime Scene Technology Concentration: This area of concentration provides students with the basic knowledge and skills to direct a crime scene investigation, but not conduct forensic science analysis. Computer Forensic Technology Concentration: This area of concentration provides students with the basic knowledge and skills to utilize and apply computer forensic services and software tools to criminal investigation.
