To clarify student values and worldview in a Christian context To develop student research ability To serve: To further develop professionalism in educators To gain knowledge that increases the level of practicing their discipline Program Objectives The program aims to: Expand student knowledge of the field of Curriculum and Instruction Require student to apply critical analysis Develop student ability to write in a scholarly style Encourage student to participate in analytical discussions with increasing skill Encourage student to articulate their values and worldview Persuade student to exhibit professional behavior Teach student how to conduct educational research and/or develop programs or projects Have student demonstrate how to development a research project, or thesis Exhibit acquired knowledge of Curriculum and Instruction Student Learning Outcomes After completing this program the student will: SLO 1 Exhibit a broad knowledge of the field of Curriculum and Instruction in order to better be a curriculum and instruction practitioner. SLO2 Participate in analytical discussions with increasing skill in order to develop critical thinking regarding effectiveness at professional sites/classrooms SL0 3 Demonstrate the ability to write in a scholarly style and with critical thinking in order to write for professional journals or for curriculum leadership tasks in school settings SLO 4 Demonstrate the ability to discuss course content and to reflect on the readings in order to develop a strong sense of the value of scholarly content SLO 5 Be able to articulate their values and worldview in order to develop a framework for their own thinking about educational practices SLO 6 Exhibit professional behavior in order to be role models for their students, in carrying out educational responsibilities, treat students and colleagues with dignity and respect, and to be mindful of the limits of their own knowledge SLO 7 Conduct educational research and/or develop programs or projects in order to prepare for continued research or program development in their profession.
