The goal for faculty in the Department of Computer Science is to provide students with the advanced conceptual framework and the technical expertise required to meet these new developing markets. Bachelor of Science Degree The Computer Science baccalaureate degree program is modeled in accordance with guidelines established by the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET). Students select one of three options: Business, Information Security or Mathematics. The total number of semester hours required for graduation is 128 for the Business and Information Security options and 132-136 for the Math option. Career Opportunities Graduates develop a high level of programming and systems analysis skills using microcomputer hardware. The faculty members are committed to providing high quality instruction with small class size, individualized tutoring and academic counseling. Internships and cooperative work-related experiences with regional computerized industries are encouraged. Graduates have found employment in the fields of government, banking, insurance, telecommunications, and computer technology. Students may move into the Masters program offered at KSU which also offers three options.
