Program Curriculum Goals 1. Graduates will practice entry level social work from a knowledge base which integrates the following areas: Social Work Values and Ethics (including NASW's 6 value elements: service, social justice, the dignity and worth of the person, the importance of human relationships, integrity, competence, as well as human rights and scientific inquiry); Diversity; Promotion of Social and Economic Justice; Populations at Risk; Human Behavior in the Social Environment; Social Welfare Policy and Services; Social Work Practice; Scientific Inquiry; Field Practicum 2. Graduates will use generalist practice skills with diverse client systems of all sizes and with specific emphasis on work with people of the Appalachian geographical region. 3. Graduates will develop and increase self-awareness of their responsibility as Christians and Social Workers to continue their spiritual, personal, and professional growth and development.
