Graduates work in the insurance, banking, credit union, retirement, estate planning, personnel benefits, and investments industries; as consumer affairs professionals in business; and with local, state, and federal consumer protection agencies. Emphasis is placed on understanding financial products and how they work, as well as the role of family in financial decisions. This family and consumer economics program is registered with the Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards, so graduates will be qualified to take the CFP certification examination and work as certified financial planners.
