There is an exemplary child care center housed here on campus, our Child Development Lab School. You will be involved with the Lab School starting in your first semester, observing from specially-designed observation rooms and later in other classes you will be interacting with the children face-to-face. You will be supervised and provided with lots of feedback and given support to improve your interactions with young children and teaching staff. At Iowa State you will be prepared to help all children reach their utmost potential, regardless of their abilities. You will receive more preparation than students at other universities for working with children with special needs.
