Marine Systems from International Yacht Restoration School is a Campus Certificate Marine degree that prepares you for a Transportation career. The onboard systems on today?s boats are technically advanced?and as that technology develops further, so too does the marine industry?s need for skilled technicians . To meet the industry?s need for trained professionals, IYRS partners with the American Boat and Yacht Council (ABYC) to develop a state-of-the-art Marine Systems program. Students learn the ins and outs of systems installation, repair , maintenance , and problem-solving from industry professionals with longtime experience in the field. During the nine-month program students get hands-on experience with today?s latest technologies and also do a student externship to gain real-world experience. Students are prepared to sit for the relevant ABYC certification exams, the highest level of industry certification available in the United States. When graduates leave IYRS, they are prepared to tackle the many challenges that today?s marine technicians face on the job. The nine-month Marine Systems program runs from September through May at the school?s satellite campus in Bristol, a Rhode Island coastal town with a high concentration of marine companies. Classes are held Monday through Friday, from 9 am to 5 pm.
