Program Description This 30.0 Semester Credit Hour (900 clock hours) program requires 36 weeks of training (day and evening), and concentrates on developing familiarity with the major aspects of the legal profession as a Paralegal. Program Objectives The program is designed to provide students in the Paralegal Specialist Program with a complete understanding of the legal system from the law office through the State and Federal Court Systems and local agencies. Students will also develop an extensive knowledge in interviewing, investigation and trial preparation from the initial client interview through post trial procedures. Students will also be thoroughly trained in legal research through classroom and hands-on training at the Law Library. Students will develop computer skills through the use of Microsoft Word, and WESTLAW (computer aided legal research system). Students learn both Civil and Federal procedures through hands-on drafting of required documents.
