Medical Assistants are trained to prepare and maintain exam rooms and control and organize medical supply inventory. The emphasis on administrative and clinical skills includes instruction in medical terminology, medical insurance billing, medical office procedures, communication, word processing, accounting, and computer skills. The program includes an externship where you'll apply hands-on learning from the classroom into a physician's office, clinic, or other healthcare facility. Diploma courses may be applied toward the Medical Assistant Degree program.
