Psychology at Indiana Wesleyan University is dedicated to integrating the Christian faith with a serious professional preparation within the discipline in the domains of academic preparation, research and scholarship, service and experiential learning, and intercultural development. We live out this integration through such endeavors as developing personal models and theories of integration as part of our course requirements (e.g., Theories of Personality). We do so by having many of our upper-classmen students presenting original research in collaboration with departmental faculty at professional and student research conferences. We do so by fostering numerous opportunities for our students and faculty in serving children, couples, families, and the elderly in need or at risk through service/learning opportunities through the psychology club and required courses. We do so by encouraging our students and faculty to be immersed in cross-cultural experiential learning encounters either in ethnically distinctive communities in Marion, Chicago, Latin America, and overseas.
