Nursing from Illinois Eastern Community Colleges - Lincoln Trail College is a Campus Associate Registered Nurse degree that prepares you for a Nursing career. The nursing office will provide prospective students with program information, an application, and a partial copy of the Illinois Nursing Act, which stipulates that a nursing license may be refused to persons who have been involved in a criminal offense, such as felony or misdemeanor, or unlawful sale of any drug, or alcohol/substance abuse. One convicted of a criminal offense is not automatically barred from licensure, but the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation will take such convictions into consideration. Applicants will be asked to submit pre-admission documentation if concerns exist. Effective Fall 2007, a cumulative GPA of 2.5 is required to make application to the nursing program. Academic Progress/Nursing 1. All nursing students must achieve a minimum grade of C in theory as well as a satisfactory grade for laboratory components of each nursing course. Any grades less than C achieved in a nursing or concurrent general education course are unacceptable for progression in the nursing program. 2. General education courses must be completed before or during the semester they are scheduled. Students who do not complete the general education courses early or as scheduled will not be allowed to enroll in the next nursing course. 3. Any student who fails to earn a grade of C or above in a nursing course or concurrent general education course cannot continue and will be dropped from the nursing program.
