Some members of the club participate in the annual Associate of Computing Machinery (ACM) Regional programming contests. Students in all academic disciplines, including computer science, are strongly encouraged to acquire practical experience by completing an internship. Recent internships for computer science students include those with State Farm Insurance, Levi, Ray and Shoup Inc., Computer Science Corporation, and Argonne National Laboratory. What opportunities are available after graduation? Many computer science graduates who have decided to obtain higher degrees have recently attended University of Kansas, University of Illinois at Springfield, and Louisiana State University. Computer science majors have accepted jobs as application specialists, computer programmers, information systems auditors, and support center specialists.
