English Literary Arts from Huston - Tillotson University is a Campus Bachelor English degree that prepares you for a Liberal Arts career. Huston-Tillotson University's College of Arts and Sciences, Department of Humanities and Fine Arts offers a degree in English to students interested in the liberal arts , graduate school, and professional careers in the areas where critical thinking and effective communication are valued. The required courses lay the foundation for the successful pursuit of graduate degrees in the humanities, law, communications, education, creative writing, etc., as well as for careers in such fields as teaching, journalism, and publishing. Students in the English major can choose either the Literary Arts track for the English major. Students in the Literary Arts track can also choose to complete teacher certification requirements for secondary education. The program offers all students an English or a Professional Writing Minor. Here at Huston-Tillotson University, it is the mission of the English Program to help students develop the critical thinking, research, reading, writing, and speaking skills necessary for personal and professional success.
