Associate of Arts Degree (Core Cluster) General Objectives Upon completion of the courses of study, the student will be able to: 1. Demonstrate a knowledge and understanding of the Bible and an appreciation for its content and authority as the inerrant Word of God. 2. Apply biblical truths and theological principles and concepts to the solution of human problems for the betterment of human life and to the glory of God. 3. Display an understanding of world events from a historical perspective, which shaped the development of Christian religion. 4. Demonstrate effective use of the tools of communication in oral and written forms. 5. Exhibit preaching skills in sermon preparation and delivery. 6. Exhibit a working knowledge of techniques and methods of Bible teaching. 7. Demonstrate knowledge of human behavior with regard to how they respond to psychological and sociological issues, events, and conditions that impact human decisions. Pastoral Ministry Concentration (15 Credit Hours) Specific Courses Students who complete this option will be able to demonstrate achievement of the general objectives listed under the core cluster and will also be able to: 1. Prepare and deliver various types of sermons for different occasions. 2. Demonstrate a knowledge and understanding of the principles and techniques of church growth, church administration, and church organization and management. 3. Exhibit knowledge and understanding of the duties and responsibilities that is generally required of a pastor. 4.
