Home Health Aide Program Description - HHA The curriculum for this program is designed to prepare the student to enter the work force as a home attendant or Home Health Aide. To begin this program the student must successfully complete the school's entrance exam. HHA Occupational Outcomes This program is designed to prepare the student to enter the work force as a home attendant or home health aide. HHA Program Objectives Upon completion of this program the student will be able to: 1. Demonstrate knowledge of the health care delivery system and health occupations. 2. Demonstrate the ability to communicate and use interpersonal skills effectively. 3. Demonstrate knowledge of the Home Health Aide's legal and ethical responsibility including HIPAA. 4. Demonstrate an understanding of and apply wellness and disease concepts. 5. Recognize and practice safety and security procedures. 6. Recognize and respond to emergency situations including BLS-CPR. 7. Recognize and practice infection control procedures. 8. Demonstrate basic computer skills. 9. Demonstrate employability skills. 10. Demonstrate knowledge of blood borne diseases, including AIDS. 11. Apply basic math and science skills. 12. Demonstrate knowledge of the legal and ethical responsibilities of the Home Health Aide including identifying signs of domestic violence. 13. Perform personal patient care procedures. 14. Apply principles of nutrition. 15. Provide care for geriatric patients including active or passive range of motion. 16. Apply the principles of infection control OSHA. 17. Provide bio-psycho-social support. 18. Perform supervised management functions, following the patient's plan of care. 19. Assist with rehabilitative activities. 20. Perform home health services.
