Truck Driving and Transportation Training from Hawkeye Community College is a Campus Certificate Land Transport degree that prepares you for a Transportation career. Truck Driving & Transportation Training program prepares students to operate an over-the-road truck or enter the trucking business as a motor carrier. This program will assist students in obtaining a Commercial Drivers Instruction Permit. The Truck Driving & Transportation Training program prepares students with the basic skills, knowledge and regulations of the Trucking Industry and Transportation in interstate commerce. This program is based on the Federal Highway Administration proposed minimum standards for training tractor-trailer drivers. Interstate regulations require a driver to be at least 21 years of age and intrastate regulations require drivers to be at least 18 years old.
