Ordinarily, living stipend support is limited to the first two years, including summer support, and tuition grants are limited to five years. After the completion of two years in residence, candidates for the PhD degree in history of science ordinarily are eligible for appointments as teaching fellows in the history of science to serve as tutors in the undergraduate program of history and science . A candidate may also lead discussion sections in departmental courses and courses given under the Committee on the Core Program.
