Hands-on learning is emphasized and provided in the shop areas and through experiences such as weekend field trips to racetracks around the Carolinas. Greenville Tech?s Motorsports program offers a real-world experience by working with the college?s race car, built to the USAR Series standards. The car was built from the ground up by students, with sponsorships and donations from many partners. Greenville Tech is the only college in South Carolina where students can enroll in the General Technologies Associate Degree with a concentration in Motorsports, a two-year program that provides extensive experience in Motorsports, with cross training in automotive and auto body techniques. With a variety of marketable skills, graduates can go to work for a race team, an auto body shop, a fabrication shop, or other automotive businesses. Greenville is located in the middle of the U.S. ?Motorsports Corridor? that extends from Charlotte to Atlanta and encompasses two-thirds of the North American Motorsports activity.
