Drafting/Design Technology from Greater Altoona Career and Technology Center is a Campus Certificate Engineering Design degree that prepares you for a Engineering career. Drafting/Design Technology is directed towards preparing high school students & adults who will apply for admission to an accredited four-year college or university, Commonwealth campus, junior college or technical school and/or upon graduation, enter the workforce as technicians , engineering aides, draftspersons or CAD operators in various fields. The program is intended to give the student an opportunity to develop essential skills in, but not limited to, the following: Engineering drafting and graphics Mechanical conceptualization Application of mathematical tools to solve geometry Problem solving through determination of design intent Understanding of industries & manufacturing processes Industry standard technology of design & reproduction Architectural drawing and materials of construction Attitudes and work habits relative to the standards of the industry.
