The department houses the only university-based counselor education program in North America that offers a concentrated focus in the use of Individual Psychology approaches with children, couples, families and school-based programs. The Ph.D. with a major in Counselor Education and Practice emphasizes scholarly research as well as the development of technical skills for the professional practitioner/teacher.
