The School of Computer and Information Sciences offers the degree of Master of Science in Computer Science . This degree program has two options: Computer Science and Computer Information Systems. The degree programs are designed to serve two purposes: as a "Professional" program to allow computer scientists in industry to upgrade their professional skills as an "Academic" program to allow capable computer scientists to prepare for the terminal degree The MS program requires you to complete 36 graduate credit hours which includes some required core courses and some elective courses. In each major you have Non-thesis Option and Thesis option. You can elect to complete 36 credit hours by course work only (non-thesis option) or you can complete 36 credit hours by course work and thesis (thesis option). See the curriculum sheet for more detail. Any student who wishes to take Thesis option must take the approval of Graduate Advisor prior to registering for thesis. It is recommended that any student who wishes to take thesis option must take the approval of Graduate Advisor in their first semester at GSW and initiate the process.
