Program Description: The Commercial Truck Driving certificate program is a sequence of courses designed to prepare students for careers in commercial truck driving. Learning opportunities develop academic, technical, and professional knowledge and skills required for job acquisition, retention, and advancement. The program emphasizes specialized training in the fundamentals of CTD (CTD 101), basic CTD operation (CTD 102), advanced CTD operation (CTD 103) and a CTD internship (CTD 104) with a company to provide the advanced training, which focuses on developing driving skills. Each student must receive a minimum program total of 44 hours of individual behind-the wheel (BTW) instructional time; at least 12 hours must be spent on the range and at least 12 hours must be spent on the street/road for each student.
