Phlebotomy Technology from Galveston College is a Campus Certificate Pharmacy degree that prepares you for a Healthcare career. The Phlebotomy Technology program is a one-semester 15 credit-hour program, which is designed to prepare the student for an entry-level position as a phlebotomy technician. The student will be eligible to take the American Society of Clinical Pathologists Board of Registry examination for certification upon completion of PLAB 1223, PLAB 1166, and PLAB 1391. The primary role of the phlebotomy technician is to collect blood samples from patients, obtain and verify patient information, and transport and store blood for analysis and testing.
