Biology from Fort Hays State University is a Campus Bachelor Biology degree that prepares you for a Science career. Students may concentrate their studies in one of several areas of emphasis within biology. Most options in Biology can be completed within the minimum of 124 credit hours required by the university. These options prepare students for entry-level positions with private employers or government agencies. Many careers in biological sciences require advanced study, thus students also can prepare for further education at the graduate level at FHSU or elsewhere. For some pre-professional options, students must transfer to another institution to complete their undergraduate degrees . Except for some of the pre-professional options, for which coursework is completed at another institution, each area of emphasis accessed through the links below separates the biology courses into 3 "tiers". Tier I includes 4 biology courses required of all Biology majors at FHSU. Tier II is comprised of 8 biology courses currently being offered, and the student must pass at least 4 of these courses. For some options, some or all of these 4 courses are required to complete that particular option. Tier III includes additional required or recommended biology courses specific to the option.
