For the Program in Interdisciplinary Humanities there is no opposition between specialized knowledge and interdisciplinary knowledge. This is consistent with the erasing of boundaries among the disciplines that have taken place since the middle of the Twentieth century. Students and scholars approach their objects of study from more than one perspective and in collaborative and dialogical intellectual environment. The Program in Interdisciplinary Humanities thus provides an academic space for conversation among disciplines as well as develops professionals that can collectively approach problem related to culture and society.
