Nursing from Florida Gateway College is a Campus Associate Registered Nurse degree that prepares you for a Nursing career. The Associate Degree in Nursing Program at Florida Gateway College was established in 1964. Advancement in nursing education to Bachelor Degrees is encouraged through referral to the university RN to BSN programs. The Lake City Community College graduates have demonstrated consistent success with advancement through these programs. It is highly recommended that students plan to work no more than twenty hours a week during the time he/she is completing the requirements for the Nursing program. All students who graduate from a nursing program and wish to sit for the examination in Florida for the Registered Nurse will be reviewed in accordance to state law Chapter 464.008 and 464.018 by Florida State Board of Nursing. Applicants are required to provide related information of past convictions or no contest pleas-regardless of adjudication for any offense other than minor traffic violations. Arrest and court records must be sent to the board. Your application will not be considered complete until these records are provided. A criminal records search is conducted on all applicants. Any misrepresentation can result in delay or refusal of license. The Board has the authority to withhold licensing as a result of their investigation.
