Golf Course Operations from Florida Gateway College is a Campus Associate Golf Management degree that prepares you for a Hospitality career. The Golf Course Operations Program at Florida Gateway College is the only program in the nation offering a three-year curriculum. Our accredited program is uniquely designed to develop the total golf course operations professional. Graduates of the program are qualified to enter careers as assistant superintendents with excellent opportunities to advance to superintendents, golf course construction supervisors, or specialists in allied areas of turf management including sod production and athletic field management. This is an academically challenging program. The first year includes golf course equipment and shop management in the 15,000 sq. ft. Turf Equipment Technology building which opened in August, 1988. The second and third years include horticulture, agronomy, and golf course management training. Two twelve-week summers of required on-the-job training at golf courses within a 500 mile radius of Lake City occur after the first and second years. During the two summer semesters, registration fees must be paid and students must live off campus. However, students will be paid by their summer employers. Upon successful completion of the program, the student receives an Associate in Science degree in Golf Course Operations .
