Film students learn modern digital film production, which is fast taking over the independent film circuit, as well as industry standard video and film production, shooting projects with 24p Digital cameras, and professional Betacam and Arriflex 16mm cameras. Students learn non-linear post-production in our Final Cut and Avid editing rooms. Courses in Screenwriting, Directing, Lighting and Cinematography complement our production and post-production courses. The program culminates in senior thesis projects screened at a public movie theater. Our close proximity to New York City not only allows student trips to professional production facilities such as Kodak, Delux Labs and Panavision, but also access to working professionals through our industry guest speakers program which brings in talented specialists in their field who generously share their experiences and expertise with our students. Students get real world experience with industry internships and in our Corporate Video Production class which has used student crews to produce professional videos for Allied Office Products, Arts Horizon, The Seeing Eye Institute, PriceWaterhouseCoopers, and others. In our new Feature Filmmaking class, students work with professionals on an independent feature film with professional actors.
