GOALS To accomplish its purpose, the Psychology program will: 1. Examine both the modern and ancient aspects of the discipline of psychology. 2. Help students gain a broad based knowledge in the current field of psychology . 3. Train students from a Christian perspective and develop skills in interpersonal relationships, communication with clients, and interviewing techniques. 4. Increase students' understanderstanding of the integrative aspects of psychology, spirituality, and Christianity. 5. Expose students to the many applied areas in psychology . 6. Help students gain necessary skills in the interpretation of human behavior, thought, and emotion. OBJECTIVES Graduates of the Psychology program should possess the following knowledge base at an under?graduate level of proficiency: Biopsychosocial processes of human normal and abnormal development Basic key concepts in the field including the history of psychology , personality theories and theorists, biological basis of behavior, abnormal psychology, and social psychology . Statistical procedures, research methodology, and interpretation. ? Secular (APA) and Christian codes of ethics as applied to various areas of professional psychol?ogy. ?
